NGO Roots for Sex Education

THE government has been challenged to take sex education in the school curriculum seriously.

A coast based sexual reproductive health advocacy organisation, Mtwapa Initiative for Positive Empowerment, yesterday said the move will help address the challenges arising from teenage pregnancies.

Speaking in Mombasa yesterday, MIPE director Evans Gichuru said sex education will address unplanned teenage pregnancies, depression, school dropout and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Gichuru said youth in the country are exposed to sexual activities at an early age due to lack of proper guidance and poor society morals.
