The rescue operation at the collapsed building in Huruma has officially been closed as it entered its 8th day.
Incident Commander Pius Masai says the operation was closed at 1800 hours.
Masai said 49 people had been confirmed dead while 140 rescued since the operation begun Friday last week.
He said the number of those reported missing had reduced from 71 to 45 and 18 were recuperating at Kenyatta National Hospital.
